Hey all,
I am new to the forum, but not to Heroclix. Have been playing a while.
I was wondering a few things. One, is there anyone in the Cleveland, OH area interested in getting together for gaming?
And two, have you all read about Wixkids' new game scheduled for release later this year called HorrorClix? Sounds like a lot of fun. Just wondering about your thoughts.

Check the Wizkids website and forums for more info on Horrorclix...
and do definitely fill out the poll to vote for your favorites for them to look into licensing.
I'd humbly ask you to vote for Ghostbusters as well.. :)

YES!!! I am totally into having ghostbusters in there.
I have noticed that wizkidsgames (producer of -----clix) is
very dialed into the discussion group on hcrealms.com!!!
Almost every fringe interest that was discussed over the past
couple of years was represented in the survey. Make your voice heard!
VOTE! and keep posting here, this lame ass group is too quiet.

I went to my first comic convention last week and got an Indy clix
starter set for 4 bucks and two boosters for 2 bucks each!
Let's stay in touch and anyone in the east bay cali get in
        contact with me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock on-

I did see those sculpts and they look AWESOME!! I so can't wait to play this game...(not the Heroclix has lost my interest... :) )
I read a good bit of the forums already, and from what it sounds like so far, the game sounds like it will be fun and a bit different with the emphasis on scenario play.
I am contemplating going to Origins just to see Horrorclix! That and it's only about two hours away from me. Which makes it easy. I'd love to be one of the demo guys at Origins for this game...how fun would that be!

I did my part in voting!

the thing I wonder is; if they'll be compatible with Heroclix for cross-over play. Zombies are good for any occasion; and the Aliens and Predators.. well do I have to finish that sentence?

According to WizKids, Horrorclix will be more compatable to Heroclix than MageKnight ever was. But they won't be exact. In their opinion, it wouldn't be hard to make some "house rules" adjustments to play the two games' figures together, but they aren't going to make any official cross-over rules. Which all makes sense really.

If you read the forum boards on the Wizkids site about Horrorclix, there is some good info about it. It can just be hard to find amongst all of the other chatter.

You are definitely right though...Zombies, Predators and Aliens...OH MY!

Man! I wish I could get to that convention and get an early peek at these things.

Also, did you see that a new Heroclix set is coming?
                  X-Men, Danger Room!!!! Awesome.

                    totally.

that 3d/object figure set look so sweet. I hope they keep making these! I might buy two just to give them double incentive!

good to hear that there will be enough overlap to play both games together! I already do alot of that anyway with my 3D terrain (combining rules from SWM d20, Heroscape, & Heroclix... where one system lacks a rule, take it from the best example from a different system... it works really well actually)

                      Hi,

Heroclix actually includes rulings for 3d play and any use of 3d terrain is simply done like the elevated terrain on the maps. I personally use thigns from www.clixbuilders.com/ I have teh entire set adn have much of it printed out and build, we use if your demo games to help attract attention to the game and also for out regular weekly AP games.

Well it has to work a bit differntly for me, as I use Hewroscape hex tiles as the base for my 3D terrain. my terrain is fully 3D as opposed to boxes on a flat map. I use the Heroscape rules for ascent and descent; and I use the staqndard rules for indoors (as indoor terrain is square... not hex.) anyway.... believe me, it requires a few simple house rules.

that's my favorite part about Heroclix: house rules are legal! (where applicable of course)

By the way: anybody else play Star Wars Minis? they are releasing a variant of the AT-ST tomorrow in what they're calling a scenerio pack. Same unit, new pose (blasters a-blazin') Comes with Map and three imperial units: an officer, Scout trooper, and stormtrooper!

AT-STs were pretty hard to get your hands on out of Universe boosters. I bought one at DragonCon last year to make sure I didn't go without. Irony? it cost more for that single than the price on these packs! they cost $20, you get a Huge AT-ST (huge is the size class in the game, not a descriptive) three soldier units, and a new map.

I see what you mean. House rules can be fun.
I have a 3D set up that I built and bought and put together for Herolcix specifically and have a few house rules about certain things. I plan on using it for Horrorclix too. I may have to add a few burnt out buildings and a big graveyard, but hey that's half the fun, right?
I have not picked up the Star Wars mini game for fear of my bank account. :) Sounds like fun though.
I think I'll start a new thread on playing surfaces....care to join me?
